The Big Shot Caller

The Big Shot Caller is a triumphant, heart-warming film,  that tells the story of Jamie Lesser, whose childhood was spent watching ‘Strictly Ballroom’ ninety-seven times a day, dreaming of becoming a salsa dancer. As a grown up in ‘real life’, his social awkwardness, failed love life and severe near-sightedness got in his way.  After insurmountable disappointments, he turns to his estranged sister, Lianne, a streetwise, self-proclaimed hip hop dancing dynamo,  inspires him to follow his dream, reclaim his self-esteem and become what he was truly meant to be.

Featuring the beats of the break out salsa band La Excelencia, The Big Shot Caller stars real-life brother and sister David and Marlene Rhein, is Produced by Christine Giorgio and Written and Directed by Marlene Rhein.
