If you are thinking about Savoy this February 6, Friday night, then think again. The Salsambo Showcase Extravaganza is going to be held the same night and it will be one hot crazy night of salsa dancing On1 and On2! People will be coming from NJ, Philadelphia, Virginia, Washington DC and NY.
You still may be able to get an advanced ticket for $11, otherwise you’ll pay $15 at the door.
Even if you don’t dance salsa, you should just come and watch the performances by professional dancers.

2008 was a rough year for everyone. I basically laid low for the better half of 2008 and haven’t taken salsa classes or gone out to Latin parties that much.
Its time to get back into the groove of things and get my mind working again. So I’ll be taking weekly classes consistently with George Dennis and Victor Colon this year. I plan to go to the salsa socials once a week either on Friday’s or Saturdays. If you can’t make the socials to see the performances, visit my Salsa Performance Groups webage every now and then to check out the performances you miss.

Atrium Dance Studio recently had their Latin Christmas party on December 20th. Aside from the dancing, I usually go to watch the studio performances.
Each year, students from the intermediate and advanced salsa class come together for 6 weeks to work on a performance for the salsa christmas party. Its a culmination of salsa moves and routines that they’ve learned during the year. You can sort of call it a recital.
The crowd was awesome last night, they were very loud and supportive and brought a ton of energy and added that bit of extra excitement to the performances.
Amoung the salsa performances were the intermediate salsa group, the advanced salsa group, the R&B line dance team doing a little bit of salsa rueda, and then there was the Prince of Salsa (Eli Torres), who performed a salsa routine with his dance partner Yen Dorado.
You can see the Atrium Dance Studio performances be clicking on this link.
